Urological problems among women with major gynecological surgeries at a tertiary hospital in Port Harcourt, Nigeria.

Introduction: Urological problems are common in women, especially those undergoing surgeries, due to the proximity of urinary tract and reproductive tract. This study aims present complications major gynecological surgeries our institution. Materials Methods: reviewed sixty-one case notes patients who had gynecologic at Rivers State University Teaching Hospital, Port Harcourt. The data were analyzed using SPSS, results presented tables charts. Results: mean age was 38.51 years. Forty-eight (78.7%) myomectomy; 8.2% total an abdominal hysterectomy with bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy (TAH+BSO); 4.9% ovarian cystectomy. Those pelvic tumors 78.7%, hypertension 14.8%. Eight (13.1%) infections, while 7 (11.5%) abnormal ultrasound findings, 3.3% renal function serum creatinine above 120 micromoles per liter. Urinary infections most urological problem among women. Risk factors for (mostly uterine fibroids), hypertension, previous uterovaginal prolapse. Seven lower symptoms. Frequency micturition dysuria Conclusion: lesions infections. Findings made here differ from other studies which findings mostly iatrogenic injuries. risk caused mechanical obstruction urine flow. Early detection treatment advocated this population.
